Living History Day...Fort Meigs, Perrysburg, Ohio

During the War of 1812 this Fort in Ohio served to protect American interests. It was very...very cold and icky that day, but we still saw some really amazing things. We learned why Forts were placed in specific areas, like along rivers. We saw how forts received supplies, and a little cross over curriculum. We saw how forts are similar in building style to the Middle Ages Castles.

Lydia warming herself, and amazed that this was also the stove and oven as well.

Here is a soldier firing his flintlock musket for us.
