Homeschool Travels - United States Botanical Gardens

We had all day to kill on one of our trips to Washington DC.  Since Caty LOVES flowers, we knew we had to visit the Botanical Gardens!

This was past the point of pretty flowers in our area, so we were enjoying the outside flowers still in bloom on our visit.  The weather was beautiful!

 Playing with my new camera

This bird was very upset we were all entering the path to the museum.  He let us know it.

I love how they recreated the National Mall inside the building.  It's beautiful!

It was A LOT of walking that day.  Brayden stuck it out with many rest breaks.

She was determined to touch this cactus.

 Lydia snapping photos.

They had a great hands-on exhibit to learn about what products we use are created with plant material.  Including medicines.
There was a smelling table set up.

Smelling medicinal herbs and oils...

We have been to other Botanical Gardens and enjoyed our visit, but this is definitely our favorite.  If you are going to be in DC, please add this to you list of places to visit.  It is worth it!
