We started out our week with Caty's 2nd Cake Decorating class at Joann Fabric. She was being silly, but had a lot of fun.
Lydia and I attended a painting class together at a local art studio.
We celebrated the First Day of Spring with presents and Rainbow Food....I made rainbow cinnamon rolls and for dinner rainbow pasta alfredo.
We got the kids each a new umbrella and straw cup for the back deck.
Joey and I made more of the little M&M candy pretzel treats for his fellow workmates.
For our Art Club meetup, they worked on Jackson Pollock flower pots. They added water to their paint to change the viscosity of the paint so that it would run better.
In Science Club, we reviewed terms that the kids have been learning in their Weather book. This was the wrap-up for this unit. We still have a field trip and also the girls have reports to write about a type of weather for next week's club.
We had two cookie booths this week. One was set in a local companies cafeteria during their lunch hour. That was crazy. The other was at Dunkin' Doughnuts....it was much needed coffee that day.
The dogs were laying cute one day. I grabbed a shot. I think it was National Puppy Day!
My mismatched socks for World Down Syndrome Day.
Lydia tried working with Perler Beads. This turned bad very quickly. I need to get more water beads in. They are so much easier to work with.
In Ohio History we finished up the War of 1812 and also the battles that were fought with the Native Americans and even spoke briefly about their exit from Ohio.
Next month we will be studying Birds in preparation for National Birding Week the first week of May. SO the kids took the Teen Naturalist class with our local parks department.
On Thursday, I took the boys to an employment transition fair to learn about options available in our area for people with disabilities. It was in my old high school. I hadn't been there in 25 years. It was nuts walking back in and seeing my old typing lab...yes...my typing lab! They obviously no longer need a typewriter lab. It's now a conference room...lol.
We also attended a Homeschool Swim Day at a local indoor water park. It was a bit crazy and loud. But all-in-all the kids had fun, they were even able to play with one of their friends.
Caty did get her Thunderstorm poster done and picked out her science experiment to prep for Science club.
Lydia had riding and also both girls had gymnastics.
Lydia had riding and also ASL. Caty also had Spanish class....sorry no pictures from any of that.
