We say goodbye to Lion....

We had our new kitty Lion declawed on Wednesday because kids with autism do not understand why cats can hurt them, but they are not supposed to hurt cats.  Well I noticed that Lion was not doing well this morning, yet showed no signs of infection.  So we called the vet, after bloodwork it was discovered that Lion was in Kidney Failure.  Turns out the surgery was more than he could handle.  His kidneys started shutting down, which is something that can happen very easily with cats they told me.  Apparently cats can hide kidney issues very well.  They gave him a shot of fluids and assured me he was not in pain right now, and we are spending our final night with him and he will be put to sleep tomorrow to keep him from suffering.
These are a couple pictures with Lydia tonight with her Lion.

We will miss him very much!!

  6. I'm sorry to hear something so small caused something so big. I've got about 7 pets of my own and just had a funeral for my daughter's pet mouse. It's so hard because every single one of them is an important part of the family.
