Autisms Thursday

This week's Autisms is out of the Mouth of Joey.

I can't remember the exact conversation.  But I do remember that a clerk had irritated me in a store.  Joey heard me mumbling under my breath, and asked what happened. 

I said, "This ever so brillant person messed this up and now I have to spend extra time, which I don't have correcting the problem." 

He looked at me puzzled, and said "If this person is smart, then why are you mad at them?"

I respond, "Mom is being sarcastic......I am very mad at this unneccessary screwup that is wasting my time.  I wasn't really saying the person was smart."

Joey..."You do realize that I don't understand sarcasm.  I don't like it.  Don't use it."
