The Family Movie Event of the Year......Snowmen

Coming to theaters on October 21st is the newest Family Film...Snowmen.  Starring such big names as Christopher Llloyd and Ray Liotta, Doug E Doug, Josh Flitter, and Bobb’e J. Thompson, SNOWMEN is a humorous and heartfelt coming-of-age story about three unlikely heroes and the winter that changed their lives forever. After a surprising discovery in the snow catapults three small-town boys into the spotlight, the best friends hatch a plan to be remembered forever by setting a Guinness World Records®title. Along the way, the trio battles schoolyard bullies, unites their community and discovers that - while fame may be fleeting - true friendship lasts forever.

Here is a preview trailer for your enjoyment:

What will be your legacy? What will you build that lasts? SNOWMEN prompts audiences of all ages to ask these life-defining questions, while affirming that it's not what you do that matters so much as how you do it.

“The performances are first-rate. It's refreshing to encounter a family film that doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator and addresses the sort of emotional issues to which adolescents can actually relate.”
Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter
“A realistic and deeply moving film filled with surprising plot twists and many strong and positive messages, Snowmen is a picture of outstanding quality for the entire family.”
Christopher Gildemeister, Parents Television Council
Our family enjoyed sitting and watching this title together.  We laughed, we cried in spots, and we waited on the edge of our seats in suspense with plot twists and turns.  Our 6 year old found a couple of the scenes a bit scary, but we reassured her that it was a movie and nothing to be afraid of.  I personally found a bit of the bullying over the top for my children with autism to be watching, but we easily turned that into a positive anti-bully message.  Which this movie is also promoting.

It really does make you think, what legacy would I like to leave?.  How will I be remembered?  This is really a good story about accepting new friends, working together as a team and working to strengthening your family unit.  The kids have already mentioned about what World Record they may be able to break.

Taking in to account the couple issues above, we would definitely give this family movie 4 out of 5 stars.

SNOWMEN an MPOWER PICTURES production was written by Robert Kirbyson.  Produced by Stephen McEveety, John Shepherd, and David Segel.

This Award-Winning Comedy will be released in Theaters on Friday, October 21, 2011.  Be sure to visit your local theaters to join in on the Family Movie Event of the Year!!!!
