Homeschool Mothers Journal - Week 6

In my life this week....

Been as busy as usual.  Outside work, the girls had a sleepover with their cousin, taking my mom to her pt appointments and of course the kids other activities like Lydia's violin.  I was secretly a little grateful that we cancelled this weeks Science Club.  I still haven't caught up.  Hoping to this weekend.

It's going to be a busy weekend of finishing up fair projects with Joey.  I thought I had another week, even though the calendar clearly showed this coming Tuesday.  So we are not going to be able to finish one of his projects, he had signed up for 3.  But between all his med changes and life, I just couldn't get him to get all the work done.  So we will have to try again for collectibles next year.

In our homeschool this week...

Everyone but Brayden was able to get their schoolwork done.  Very proud of the kiddos that worked with me to finish their work.  They only had 3 days worth of work to finish.  I had planned to give them Thursday and Friday off from school.  They did not give me the option though.  They had a couple things to do yesterday, and it was really their own fault.  Brayden will be Saturday schooling this week.  It's not that he can't finish his work, he has chosen to let the Xbox take priority over his schoolwork.  So I will be chosing to remove the power cord until he finishes his work.

Places we're going and people we're seeing.....

Caty and I went to one of the area's really nice Farmer's Market.  Lydia and I also went to one of the area's Goat farms and bought our cheese......super yummy!!!!  It's been a lot of running this week, and quite frankly I am getting a little wore down.  So much for summer relaxation.

My favorite thing this week....

Eating dinner with my hubby on the back deck the other night in the rain.  It's covered so we stayed dry, but it was nice to hear the rain.

Things I'm working on.....

Just trying to keep my head above water.  With so much going on, my body is not allowing me to recoup well.  I have been starting essential oils (since I cannot take over the counter meds) to help with hormone imbalance and other issues that are presenting themselves on me.  It's driving me crazy.

Also trying to plan out the next 4 weeks of school for the kiddos.  It's going to be crazy, but their school work still needs to be done.

I'm cooking....

I am working on recipes using goat cheese.  I am able to eat this yummy delicacy.  I made chicken enchilada bake using chevre.  Of course made chicken caprese salad using goat cheese curds.  Sooooo super yummy.  Joe and I ate a lot of various salad mixtures this week.  Had shrimp one day, chicken another.  I also made a new to us favorite, a chicken fajita stirfry.  So simple and I serve it with mashed potatoes (for daddy and I, I add green chilies to our potatoes...and the kiddos eat theirs plain).

I'm reading....

Besides all the kids books, and we are reading a lot right now.  I just read about this book earlier today, so ordered it for my Kindle.

I rewarded kiddos this week.....

They loved getting their game time this week.  Caty also got a slushie and a treat at the Farmers Market if she was listening.  Lydia was able to spend extra time with her cousin playing this week.  I tried to give them two full days off from school work, but they never finished all their work the first 3 days of the week.  So they ended up doing work anyway on Thursday.  But they had today off.

A favorite picture this week....

Caty and I at their sleepover.  She had put beads in my hair just like they had.

Hope everyone had a wonderful week and have a safe & happy weekend!!!
