Summer has been a time of catch up. We were excited to get the opportunity review a one-year online subscription to Matific Galaxy.
Matific Galaxy is an online math game subscription program for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Students practice math skills in basic facts, geometry, fractions, decimals, problem solving, mixed operations, and much more. It's a self-guided journey that allows kids to explore and learn at their own pace with fun alien characters. All math skills are have been aligned with grade appropriate levels to practice for mastery.
When parents set up their child's account, they can choose what grade level to enter their student into. Parents can also set a time limit as to how much time the child can spend on Matific Galaxy each day.
Your student enters outer space and work to help unlock worlds by practicing skills.
These skills earn them coins and pixels. They can see through the amount of pixels they have earned how much they have left on each level to get their achievement.
So super easy and user friendly!!
Caty has been using Matific Galaxy during our review period. It's technically summer break and she just finished her math grade level, but she is still struggling with a few areas. She is loving the time she gets to practice on Matific Galaxy. It's not just simple addition and subtraction questions or studying math facts. Important problem solving skills are encouraged at all the grade levels.
Weekly I get a parent report in my email. It let's me know where she's struggling and what he is working toward mastery in.
Geometry is definitely an area she has struggled in this year. So having the extra practice has been great for her.
I plan on letting Caty continue in her math studies with Matific Galaxy, even after she starts her next level in math in the fall. I love that she can work to mastery in so many skills in such a fun way.
Several members of the Homeschool Review Crew were given the opportunity to review Matific Galaxy. Click on the banner below to see how they used this program in their homes and how they felt about it.
