Joey shocked me tonight asking to try out for the Special Olympics Swim team. I really was concerned since he is still an emerging swimmer. But you can see one of the coaches worked the entire time with him.
I was so happy and he did a wonderful job listening and following directions. And to anyone who knows Joey, they know that is very difficult for him. He had a good time and has requested to finish the season. We have some leg (kicking) issues to overcome, but he has found something he really likes doing. I reminded him that he must still participate in basketball, but he agreed as long as he could swim during the short swim schedule.
