We have returned from China.....

We got our passports stamped to go into the country.

We built a Great Wall of China out of mini-styrofoam bricks.

It took us two days and three bottles glue.  We used a box and half of the bricks.  We also mixed shave cream with glue to make a cool snow looking mix to show that the length of the Great Wall of China extends from warm grassy areas to snowy areas.  It's about 2 1/2 feet long.

Our last day in China we made a homemade meal of General Tso's.  And got out our "My First Chopsticks".

Joey was not excited about trying new food.  We got half a piece in him and that was it.  I even made sure to make it sweeter and not as spicy.  Left out the rice and brocolli (served them separate), but he still was very freaked out.

We also did Tanagram puzzles.

And we also utlitized Youtube.com to watch Chinese tourism movies.  We also were able to watch a Discovery Channel special on the Hidden Gems of China.

We read The Story of Ping and colored a Chinese Dragon picture.  We also read about some of the animals that live in China.  We read about the Giant Panda, Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Golden Monkey, Stork and Pangolin.  Each child did a sentence of copywork about each animal.

We really enjoyed our first week using Expedition Earth from http://www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/.  We are going to do our study out of order next week.  World Travelers Geography Club is next week, so we will be skipping to Germany and then "flying back" to Korea.
