Week in Review - March 13-19, 2011

We started a Literature/Science unit on Spring this week.  So far we talked about how to tell when it is Spring, and why we have four seasons.  Lydia even volunteered to be the sun and we used our Leap Frog Globe to travel around her and show what parts of the earth are closest to the sun and how that affects our weather.

We planted seeds in a plastic water bottle to watch how seeds sprout.  We will be talking about the parts of the plants next week, as well as the life cycles of bees and butterflies.

 This is after a week.
Lydia had ice skating lessons on Monday, and they are learning how to weave their toes in and out.

We've had a Wii forever now and I never knew you could download games, and even a few of them are educational.  So we downloaded Poo Yoo for the girls to try out.  They enjoyed it alot and we will probably buy the next two and I even found a word search game that Brayden will like!

The game actually says to shake your butt!!  They were just dancing away!
We have a little 8 foot trampoline in our messy garage.  It was warm enough this week to jump a little as long as they wore jackets.  That is their cousin Bryce in there jumping also...I really need to clean our garage out!!
We learned about nature through the help of our friends, Tinkerbell.  So the girls built fairy houses for our "friends".
 Dad even helped.

Lydia put the finishing touches on at Daisies on Thursday.
 She created a little village.

The boys finished lesson 1 in their new Spelling curriculum.  And we are just chugging along in Teaching Textbooks for Math.  We also learned about Greece in Geography.

Next week we have a field trip to the Wood County Recycling Center and a Grossology class at the Library.  We also have a water field trip to learn about water conservation.  Friday and Saturday the boys basketball team will be competing at State Competition!!!!  GO COUGARS!!!!  So for geography we are just going to have a review of the countries we have studied in Europe and get out our Continent Box for Europe.
