Lost River Cave Field trip

 Cave entrance.

The first few feet of the tour are spent leaning down so that you can fit through the entrance.  This didn't bother the boys....the boat did.  They hated it.  Joey actually told the girl, "If you might hit the wall...then stop talking and pay attention to driving."  We obviously hit a couple of low areas in the cave.  But he is freaked out by caves.

In the early 1900s this was an Underground Night Club....

 Band Stand

Dance floor and bar.  You can still rent this area.  Supposedly if you spent enough, the owner would let you walk the stair allegedly used by Jesse James to exit the cave.

Jesse James supposedly hid out in this cave after a robbery.

Th top of the cliff is where the cave actually was about 1,000 years ago.  The water ate at the limestone, and about that long ago we would've been inside the cave already at this point.

Cave straws....she said these are the beginning of stalagtites.  They give lots of Cave Kisses (drops of falling water on our heads).

Limestone formation with small water fall.

Linking up with field trip blog hop..Visit Anna-Marie sometime.
