Over the summer Joe and I participated in a workout Fitness Challenge. I did really well. I don't know what happened, but I fell off the exercise wagon when I hurt myself. It's been very hard to get back on again.
I have definitely been feeling the effects of not getting out and exercising at least 3 times a week. I feel it in my jeans and I feel it in my energy & attitude. Exercising really does seem to help with stress. Every time I am on the fence about whether or not I enjoy running, I think of the wind blowing on my face and the ability to think freely for about 30 minutes. No I am not going to win any medals, but I do feel better when I get done jogging.
But what do I do when the weather is not so nice, or I just do not have the energy for jogging? I discovered an app over the summer that I have really fallen in love with. (This is not affiliate. I am not getting anything for sharing this. I just want to share this app that is helping me.)
Daily Workout App
You can concentrate on specific areas or you can do a daily cardio workout.
There are also workouts for Kettle ball, Exercise Ball, and Pilates.
Each workout can be adjusted for as little as 5 minutes of your time to as much as a normal 30+ minute workout. Trust me, even the 5 minute workout gives you a challenge when you are not in shape.
You can easily download samples of the programs from both the Google Play and iTunes stores, depending on your device. Give them a try before you make the full program purchase. But the full programs are affordable. You can buy certain workouts or all of them. I do recommend making the full purchase. I did not and now I am doing individual purchases as I realized how much I do really like using this program.
These workouts really do challenge you, and will save you the cost of a personal trainer. Plus you can do them from your home or even take your phone with you to the gym (like I do). I start my workout and just do it right at the gym. It helps to keep me on track. But if I don't have time for a jog or even running that day, I simply pick a short workout that I can do right in my living room.
J is for Juggling our busy schedule. J is for how jagged stress makes me feel on a daily basis. J is for the Jumping Jacks and Jogging I am trying to do to keep the stress from Jamming a wedge into my health any further.
