My Words of 2015

So I have been thinking about my goals for 2015.  What do I want to accomplish?  What do I want to change?  Well there's tons about myself that I would like to change, but will I be able to?  Or will I get going and then fail miserably, like always.  So I really liked to see people choosing words for 2015, instead of making resolutions.

But what word or words could I think of for 2015????

I have come up with 2.  They kind of go hand-in-hand.

  • Balance
  • Simplify

My outside work consumes my time.  You would think working at home would make things easier, and in some ways it does.  No daycare, set my own hours, and still have the ability to travel with Joe.  But there's also the downside.  Four kids that have a wide range of needs and need supervision.  So I definitely need to add Balance to my life.  I need to find a way to get my work done, and not affect our family life.  I need to find a balance between mommy and kiddo time and mommy and daddy time.  So my goal for this year is to find that balance so that I can spend time with the kids and with my husband, and still get my work accomplished.

While working on this the balance, I will be working to simplify our life.  The first goal in my simplify challenge is decluttering.  I desperately need to do some massive decluttering.  We have so much .... just plain junk.  Things we don't need.  I am going to be more cautious when going to garage sales/yard sales, going to Goodwill and when seeing clearance racks.  Every purchase I will be asking myself, do we need this and when will be actually be using it.  How long will I have to store this before the kids will use it? (This one is important when buying ahead from clearance racks or looking at used curriculum sales.)

I am also going to try to take some time to figure out a hobby for myself.  I enjoy crocheting and reading.  So I will be working to find my time to do these activities.  I am hoping that finding this balance and finding time to do something for myself will help with my health also.  This will only help my family more.

What is your word or words for 2015?  Leave it in a comment below.

  3. Simplify is my word for the year! Only when I'm thinking of simplification, I'm thinking of things to make the things that I must keep doing easier, so that I can concentrate on the things that matter. Hubby always has to get after our physical clutter because I have trouble donating and throwing things out!! :-D

    1. Every family has their own needs and changes they need to make. I need to simplify with clutter and simplify with our schedule. Things just get way too busy :) That's what makes us all unique though!
