Koru Naturals Review - Koolpurrie Restoring Balm and Pure Emu Oil

I am doing my best to switch and use as many natural products as possible in our home.  I no longer reach for the Over-the-counter meds, I reach for essential oils and herbs at the first sign of trouble.  I eat almost zero processed foods (That's just me...still working on the family).  Now that I have my diet changed, I know I need to continue the changes toward my lotions/shampoos.  I was very excited to get a chance to review some very new-to-me products from Koru Naturals.

I recently had the opportunity to try their Pure Emu Oil (Prices varies on size and quantity, we received the 2 oz $9.85)

and

Koolpurrie Restoring Balm ($12.50)

The package arrived quickly and were packed very well.  I am always worried when ordering lotions and oils through the mail.  Leaking bottles and broken bottles have arrived a few times.  So I was very impressed with the packaging used to keep the product safe.

Now I have NEVER even thought to use Emu Oil before.  I have used several other oils, but I was seriously snickering just a little.  Who thought rubbing bird oil on your body could help you?  During my research I found so many uses for emu oil!  I had no idea!  Emu oil helps with joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, shin splints, and gout.  It can also help with diabetic nerve pain, insect bites, earaches, eye irritation, "growing pains," and frostbite. It is used for rashes, razor burn, and nicks.  People even use it in their noses to help with the treatment of their colds and flus.  It is even been known help lower triglycerides.  Well this all had me convinced I needed to try this.

So I started this new-to-me Pure Emu Oil from Koru Naturals.  I do have nerve damage in my neck and left shoulder from a car accident 10 years ago.  My fibro makes this flare up and very painful.  I tried the Pure Emu Oil there first.  I put it on, in very small amounts.  This is very unique with emu oil.  It MUST be in small amounts or you will be oiled up good.  It doesn't take but a few drops.  I did not feel instant relief like I hoped for.  But after a couple days, my shoulder did few less swollen and painful to move.  So if you are looking for instant relief, I did not find that.  I did notice though that after skipping it for a few days during my testing period, my shoulder started having a lot of pain again.

The other area I tried it in was on my face.  I am grateful that I do not have any grey hair yet, but am not so fortunate in the wrinkle department.  I could not get a good shot of the difference it made.  I do have some of that oily/dry skin combo on my face, so I was nervous about using Pure Emu Oil on my face.  Within 30 minutes of putting less than a pea size amount on my face, I noticed a smoother look.

There is no weird smell either.  I really like that the Pure Emu Oil from Koru Naturals does not include any extra weird additives that really just serve as a filler.  You get a bottle of Pure Emu Oil.  I am still out on the natural benefits of the Pure Emu Oil, but from the minor relief I have gotten so far, I will continue experimenting.  We could really use some help in the areas of gout and triglycerides for my hubby.

The Pure Emu Oil is a great value.  The 2 oz bottle will last me for many uses.  You only need a tiny, tiny amount.  I think that it is really worth the value, and cost  Pure Emu Oil will become a "staple" in my makeup case.

The other product that we were privileged to try from Koru Naturals was the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm ($12.50).  Koolpurrie Restoring Balm is a mixture of an emu oil and Pure Lanolin.  It is a thick balm.  The use for the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm is to hydrate and rejuvenate skin that is calloused and cracked.

I have HORRIBLE, and I mean HORRIBLE dry skin and dry/chapped heels.  It is embarrasing to wear my sandals.  It is also quite painful sometimes.  I literally have spots where my feet "crack" open.  No explanation and so far the doctor has not found anything to help.  So I literally hobble along sometimes without knowing what to do.  I honestly kept my expectations very low when I started using the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm.

My starting picture will not upload without it blurring, so I only have a picture of what happened with the final results.  I applied the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm daily and put on a pair of socks.  I usually did it at night, but did do it in the morning with no problems either.  (Make sure you use socks!!!  You will slip and slide if you do not!!!).

My heal went from two medium sized cracks to no cracks and minor dryness.  That is a total and complete different look.  I am used to having trouble putting on socks because of the cracked skin.  I can walk normally, and no pain wearing shoes.

You would think I was practically bathing in the balm in order to see these results, but I continue to use small amounts.  For my feet, I have been using roughly the amount of a couple peas.

On to my hands.  I have histamine issues.  So I can tell if I have been somewhere around something that I should be.  My hands get dry, cracked and chapped.  I started using the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm.  You can see the red knuckles from using a new kind of dishsoap.  I had itchy hands.  And they hurt.  My hands had been hurting all afternoon.

I put the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm on just before making dinner.  I figured it would wear off and wash off while I was making dinner. My hand felt 100% better. I could actually bend my fingers without pain.  It doesn't relieve the pain I have in my joints, but the skin has been helped big time with the Koolpurrie Restoring Balm.
I am always leary of trying new "natural products".  I wonder if they will actually help or if I will be wasting our money.  Both products that I tried from Koru Naturals have dramatically helped me with my dry and chapped skin.  The Koolpurrie Restoring Balm has had dramatic results for me.  I will continue using this and plan to place an order for more soon.

I will also continue to use the Pure Emu Oil as I am still wondering about using it long term to benefit my fibromyalgia pain.  This Pure Emu Oil has been a great addition and I can tell when I forget to take 5 minutes to put it on my face everyday.  A bottle appears to be lasting quite a while, so it seems to be a good value for such wonderful products.

Several members of the School House Review Crew had the opportunity to try out various products from Koru Naturals.  Take a little bit of time to see how they used them in their homes.
