Our Week - Telling Time, Civil War tests, Plural Nouns and Hurricanes

It has been a rough week for me.  Lots of arthritis issues.  But like everyone else, got to push through and get what I can done.  We are in a packing mode for our two week vacation.  Waiting to see what is going to happen with the Hurricane.  I spent the weekend watching the weather channel and all news channels, it just continued into the week.  Even in the van, I had all the news channels on.  That is one of the reasons I love Sirius radio.  I can't believe I almost said no to it as an option.

We did have School this week.  A little unstructured.  I had some projects that I wanted us to finish before we took our break.

Since we are supposed to be going to the Outer Banks NC next week for family vacation.....we decided to learn about hurricanes since Hurricane Matthew is making his name known to everyone.  This was a great documentary we watched...

We did a science experiment to see why hurricanes look like they do.  All of them had fun with this project...

We worked on Plural Nouns

I made a review sheet packet to practice skills.  They worked on those while watching Career Day and while we were out and about.  Lydia used my tablet to work on her Civil War sheets in the van.  I am grateful I got a tablet that works on our cell plan for cases like this.

The girls had their art class on Tuesday and practiced the color wheel more in depth.

In Math we worked on telling time to the minute.  I found some Minecraft math videos.  They didn't make sense to me, but the kids loved them.  They all did a great job working on improving in this area of life.  It was definitely review for all of them, but review that was needed more for some than others.

One day we went to a local pumpkin farm that we enjoy visiting.  We went with some friends to go through the corn maze and go on their hay ride.  It was a lot of fun to get out.

In History the older kids finished up their Civil War test.  We watched the last of the documentaries I planned.  This week we watched one on battle tactics and weaponry used.  Hoping to take a really fun field trip to the Confederate White House in Richmond, VA this weekend.

We are about to start a new phase in life when we get home from vacation.  We won't be traveling as much since Joe is taking a new job.  With some of the challenges that I have been facing on a daily basis, it will be nice to have our tag-team back in place.  Who knows what the future holds for us, because we love to travel.  Guess we'll have to see what will be happening!

We managed to wrap up everything that I wanted to accomplish before we left.  I got the van packed and ready to go.  So now I just want to say....#goawaymatthew!!!!

Watch next weekend as we share our vacation adventures and learning activities!

  2. If you acquire packaging materials from Polypropylene film supplier, you might be able to save money. For your picnic and business, you can bring everything you want. They provide a variety of packing materials at a reasonable price.
