It is that time of year again...planning time!! We had the opportunity to review the newest homeschool planner from The Old Schoolhouse® ... Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year written by Gena Suarez. My planning will definitely stay more organized!
I have tried using online planning tools, and I honestly just struggle with them. I really love sitting down with a good old-fashioned printed planner and a pencil to get my thoughts going. I still have some pages that I use on my computer for planning but mainly it is to print the kid's weekly assignment sheets. I have loved using the Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year as I have been planning our summer work/school schedule.
The Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year runs from July 2019 through June 2020. it is a complete planner, but it's not the size of an entire encyclopedia set! This is a big deal for me. I add sticky notes to create tabs for all the sections that I regularly use. I keep a larger binder clip marking my current week, because I also slide in any extra worksheets I have already printed up for the kids to be using.
I do all my planning in pencil. Seems silly, but I can easily edit my notes to include extra projects we do or move things around if we need to spend longer on certain topics.
Included in The Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year is a devotional planner, that includes a monthly note and devotional or spiritual topic to help encourage you. We all know how down we can get as we face daily struggles with life and homeschooling. Gena has found a way to give us a beautiful reminder of why we chose this path and encouragement to keep us going.
Attendance charts are near the back of the book, if you live in a state that requires attendance tracking.
Plus there are pages to lay out your educational goals for the year or just by the semester, however you prefer to plan.
Some parents track their children's reading charts, and there are pages to keep all that information on also.
The Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year keeps all your information together in one place. So when the year is over, you can finish your state paperwork easily.
Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year can be used by families whether you are using a boxed pre-planned curriculum or you are creating as you go. We fit in that second category. There is room for planning 7 subjects, but since it's 4H season, I have to divide that up into a little more so help keep us on track to finish our projects.
I love using Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year. It is just the right size measuring at 9" x 11" x .5". Using a print planner like this helps keep me organized, which means I feel less stress....equaling out to be a happier homeschool day. I also have a clear set of notes of what we accomplished when I go to meet for our annual assessment that is required by our state each year.
If you want your own copy of Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year you better hurry!! They plan only 1 printing of this amazing planner, and they are nearing the sold out point!! If you do not get it before then, you will have to wait until the 2020/21 planner is printed!! You will miss out this year!
