Channie's Visual Handwriting & Math Workbook Review

Extra practice for math can be harder and a struggle for kids with learning disabilities.  We had the opportunity to review two products from Channie's Visual Handwriting & Math workbooks series that really have helped Caty out.  The Channie's One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice and Channie's Dry Erase Flashcard for Sight Words have been a great addition to her daily work.

Some days it's really hard to homeschool.  Life happens.  Distractions happen.  Sometimes kids just need that extra bit of practice.  Well we had all of that happen to us over the summer.  Caty is struggling with her 2-digit multiplication and remembering the columns.

The One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice consumable workbook provides students with roughly 25 problems each day for them to practice double digit multiplication.  It was created fro Grades 3-5.  The problems start out with no carryover, double digit by single digit.  As your student works their way through the book and masters the basic problems, it advances to carryover and double digit times double digit numbers.

How did we use this product?  Right along side the math curriculum that Caty has been using.  We plan on spending through December reviewing basic concepts that Caty was struggling with in multiplication.  The Channie's One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice has slipped right into the combination of her math book, as if it was specifically created to go in our program of study.

We also had the opportunity to review and use Channie's Dry Erase Flashcard for Sight Words.

These were created for students roughly preschool through mid-elementary.  The cards cover the First 100 Sight words that are taught during the first years of reading instruction.   They are simple to use, and only require a dry erase marker.

I really like the multi-color blocks that encourage students with their letter development.  The cards were not too thick, so 50 cards were easy to store.  But they were made of sturdy material that can withstand repeated use by kids.

I'll be honest, we are past site word practice, but Caty did use these cards to help with spelling.  Each set contains an extra two blank cards.  These extra cards can be used for learning to write their name or any other words they need extra help on.

The two-color blocks help students to keep proper letter formation size.  This is great for students who may have learning delays and need that extra help.  The extra cards, Caty used for spelling practice and to also practice her Japanese character writing.

Channie's Visual Handwriting & Math Workbooks offers a wide variety of educational materials for many grade levels and subjects.  We have used several of their products and the kids have always benefited from them.  Channie's Visual Handwriting & Math workbooks is definitely a curriculum choice for you to check out.

  1. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
