Let's Go Geography, Year 2 Review

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

One of my favorite subjects to teach is Geography, almost as much as I love history.  We recently had the opportunity to review Let's Go Geography,Year 2 online geography program from Let's Go Geography.  This has really helped out with geography lesson planning

When studying geography and cultures, I love the hands-on approach.  A hands-on approach with immersion into the culture really can give your student a knowledge of what it is like to live in that location.  This approach has helped Caty to already start her travel bucket list.  But the downside of this approach is that lesson planning can become very time consuming.

Let's Go Geography, Year 2 online program gives you a full list of countries to study, including regions in the United States.  This 32 week program is extremely user friendly.  This makes your planning for geography extremely easy.

Once you login, you start your lessons.  Each week is a PDF downloadable file that you can either just open on your computer, or you can print the materials.  It's truly your choice.  We have always chosen to print certain materials, including pictures from the area we are studying and also flags to color.

Created for elementary study (Grades K - 5) of geography, I was able to use it with our elementary and middle school student for multi-level teaching.  This required me changing up the crafts just slightly, but that was it.  I also required a little further research from her about the country, to help her work on those early researching skills.

The girls enjoyed the coloring pages, but really enjoyed the pictures and video links for the areas that we were "visiting".

Each PDF file lesson also contains video links that open up to pre-screened webpages to learn more about cultural activity or the geography of an area.  Many countries also have a link to the national anthem for your student to become more familiar with it.

There are suggestions for crafts and also library book suggestions for additional reading.

Map links are provided along with activities for younger and older students.

Let's Go Geography also thinks about Homeschool families schedules.  In the Year plan, they include 3 breaks and also 3 review weeks.  Those weeks you go back and review all the countries you had covered since the last review.  Those are every 12 weeks.

I love the pace of Let's Go Geography, Year 2 online geography program.  We do not do Geography daily, but the way that Let's Go Geography is broken down each week, you could do about 10 minutes each day on that country.  We choose to spend 2 days working on Geography, but daily find the country/region on our World Map.

We have been reviewing the newly released Year 2 subscription.  That is a full 32 weeks worth of resources.  You would think that this much material would be out of a normal family's budget, but Nope!!  It's only $27.99 a year!!

But you can also purchase individual lessons ($3.99 each) as well if you choose.

I am very grateful for being introduced to this wonderful homeschooling tool.  It has really helped my homeschool planning and the girls are enjoying all that we are learning while we are "visiting" each country/region.
