Drive Thru History® Adventures - Bible Unearthed Review

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

We have explored so many areas of history during our homeschool life. I was super excited to get the opportunity to review a soon-to-be released program from Drive Thru History® Adventures - Bible Unearthed.  This has been an eye opening program that really shows that the Bible is historically accurate and not just a fiction story like so many try to say.

It's no secret that we are huge Dave Stotts fans.  We have viewed his programs Drive Thru History® Adventures: From Acts to Revelation, Drive Thru History® Adventures: The Gospels - Adventures - Drive Thru History® Adventures:  American History, and even the Drive Thru History® Adventures: Ancient History - Adventures.  We have watched them all, and loved them all.  Both ourselves and the kids really learn a lot of information outside of our actual Bibles and history textbooks as we watch Dave visit all of the historical places.  For history this year, the girls and I are casually going through our Bibles and studying history this year comparing the Bible to historical timelines.  The soon to be released Bible Unearthed completely fit into our studies.

Bible Unearthed includes not just Dave Stotts, but also Titus Kennedy, and Randall Niles.  Titus Kennedy is a prominent archaeologist who has spent several years studying the historic aspects of the Bible and visiting sites proving the accuracy of the events and locations written of in the Bible.

There are 17 lessons in the Bible Unearthed series.  These episodes last roughly 15 minutes each, and include footage of the actual locations, replicas of various historic items that have been unearthed and prove the events, and also maps, stories, etc.  Each lesson also includes a Biblical scripture to use in a family discussion:

Also inside the study guide there are also optional activities for older students to really get hands-on.

There are also summaries and questions to discuss or answer as a family.

I was not disappointed in all the Bible Unearthed had to offer.  I would definitely recommend this series for students in late elementary and up.  It is just great for the whole family.  I loved sitting down with the girls during each episode.  In fact, I would watch the episode before they watched it so that I could point out extra material we may miss in normal viewing.  It also helped me prep better for our discussions.

Everything is easily laid out for parents to use.  I really just needed to print the course guide for each episode.  Some episodes, I had the girls watch independently and fill out the guide.  Others we watched together and just had a discussion of the materials.

The Drive Thru History® Adventures series though always has the materials laid out to be very user friendly.  We have been watching the episodes on our laptop, and sometimes we project them on our television through our laptop.  It really depends on if all of our are watching that episode, or if they are watching them independently.

You could easily count this program on your electives list for high school if your student went through all the episodes and also completed the optional activities/research.

I can't wait to finish this series as we move through our ancient history studies.  We did get a chance to view the material prior to release.  So you will need to wait patiently for the Drive Thru History® Adventures - Bible Unearthed series to be released.  I'm sure it will be very soon!

This is really just another awesome creation from Dave Stotts and the group at Drive Thru History® Adventures.  You can click on the link below to see how other members of the Homeschool Review Crew family used this program in their homes.
