Three Things Thursday

This project may get harder and harder for me to work on.....hmmmmm

1.  I am addicted to Farmville 2.  I "farm" a few times a day.  My kids love this game too.  I had to open them Facebook accounts with severe restrictions to allow them to play with me.  They love it.  So I am working this new love as an economics lesson for them :)

2.  I have severe food allergies.  I am allergic to so much, it's hard to keep track of it all.  So that is why I cook everything we eat from scratch.  My biggest "processed" foods are potato chips (cooked in olive oil).  My parents gave me a grain mill for an anniversary present last year.  So I grind our rice flour and quinoa flour even.  I love to make new recipes or try out new ones I find online.  Then I try to blog what worked for us, in case it might help out others and their struggles.  My kids do eat "junk" food, but I am trying to limit it and the girls and I try to "re-create" as much as we can.

3.  I love to color.  It was something I so looked forward to doing with my kids.  Laying on the floor with a big box of crayons and some coloring books while watching Disney cartoons.  But guess what.....I do not have kids that like to color.  I can buy all different kinds of books, in just about every favorite character, they still don't like it.  I can still get short periods of time with them doing this.  So I limit coloring generally to schoolwork, and hope that sometimes they will color later with me.

Three Things Thursday

I am really liking this blog hop :)

1.  Since I revealed my love of the movie Twister last week.......I guess I will confess my love of the actor Bill Pullman.  The only movie I watch as much as Twister is, While You Were Sleeping.  Oh and you can't watch that without watching Independence Day too.  He hasn't done much that I remember lately, but I still love a good Bill Pullman movie.

2.  The food that I miss the most (that I can't eat because of allergies)......The seafood dip bread bowl from Red Lobster served a side salad with blue cheese dressing and red onions.  I don't think they serve it in bread bowls now, but back then....yummy!!!  I LOVE blue cheese, and miss eating it.  The goat cheese feta I found from a local farmer has a bite to it, but it's still not the same.  I used to get out of work at the video store (oh...that'll be another post), and get Joe and I take out appetizers from Red Lobster for a very late dinner.  The kids would be asleep.  It was delicious!!

3.  My favorite color is Yellow.  Most people think it's autumn tans and browns.  I used to like green a lot, back in high school.  But my favorite color is now Yellow.  It has been for several years now.  It's bright and cheerful, although I do like all shades of yellow not just the sunny ones.

Three Things Thursday

I think this new blog hop is going to help me re-discover myself....lol.  Here are 3 more things you may or may not know about me.

1.  I can't decide if I like jogging.  I am just on the fence right now.  I used to love running on a treadmill, but now not so much.  I find it boring unless I am watching something on my Kindle.  I tried to read while running on the treadmill and that didn't work so much.  Audiobooks made it a little better, but my brain still found it boring.  I really do like getting outside and running, but maybe I need a change of location because running the streets of our little town is boring.  Maybe I'll try to run in the state park in the next town over.  It's about a 10 minute drive.  Unfortunately though I have to figure drive time into my workout then, so that cuts into my running time.  It's frigid outside now, so I don't run in the cold, bitey air...too much for my fibro.  Maybe try it in the Spring.

2.  I wasn't always a health nut.  I used to eat out constantly when I was younger.  I lived on ramen noodles and canned yuck.  When Joe and I got married, and we were both working....and it wasn't uncommon for me to work 80+ hours a week, we ate all 3 meals from restaurants.  And not off of the "healthy" menu.  Even when we had kids and lived so close to restaurants, we ate out constantly.  If we didn't eat out, we had it delivered.....Waiter on the Way after all brought more than just pizza, we could order Indian, Italian, Korean...you name it...we could get it.  Hind sight is 20/20....I wish I had the same knowledge I have now, back then.  Our diets would be totally different.  We may not have the same health issues or at least would have had them under control much sooner before damage was done.

3.  My all time favorite movie is Gone With the Wind.  I could watch it all the time.  But did you know that I also really like the movie Twister?!?!  I loved the soundtrack too.  I think it would be fun to go and Storm Chase.  I probably wouldn't do it now with all my responsibilities.  But 17 years ago when that movie came out, I would've gone in an instant.  I still watch this movie when we see it on TV. ..... I gotta go now, "We got cows!"

Three Things Thursday

I just recently discovered this fun blog hop.  Don't know how I missed it before.  So fun....can't wait to start.  Each week, I will share 3 things about myself with you.

1.  When I first graduated high school, I didn't want kids.  Then life happened and I changed my mind.  We were going to wait 5 years after we got married to have kids, but changed our minds again.  Now we have four kiddos, and though I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs on a daily basis, wouldn't change a thing.

2.  I am a big fan of cheesy Weather movies on the Sci-Fi Channel.  When they have movie marathons on Saturdays and they are all those crazy weather movies....I just want to camp out all day on the couch and watch how corny they are.  Joe and I take turns that we are like Mystery Science 3K.

3.  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 12 years ago after undergoing MRIs, cat scans, numerous blood tests.  The doctor kept telling me it had to be MS, but there was not evidence.  The diagnosis was hard back then for most doctors.  Many didn't believe it was a real condition.  I was finally diagnosed, by a chiropractor.  Of course a diagnosis didn't really help me, because then I became a walking experiment for doctors.  I let life get the best of me and suffered horribly.  I still get black moods and stress makes it worse.  This is one reason that I am working hard at keeping an exercise program in place to keep myself going.  I have found if I let this go, I start losing a battle in my mind to get going each day.
