Versatile Blogger Award!!

I was so excited to be forwarded this by The Adventurer.  Please stop by and check out all of their adventures!!  They visited a castle this week....I am soooo jealous of that adventure!!!

I started our blog to help organize myself a bit.  I saw all the wonderful blogs of other homeschoolers and all their creative ideas.  But my memory is not always the best.  And when it comes to assessment time, I wanted to have an organized record of photos and experiences that we had this year.  In Ohio, you either need to turn in an actual test or have your child's portfolio assessed by a licensed teacher.  Poor Char last year ended up with a couple large boxes of paperwork and my laptop full of photos on her kitchen table!  Now when I make my appointment I can send her the blog link and let her go through it at her leisure.  The kids can each bring a few of their favorite projects to tell her about.  I love the versatility of homeschooling!!!
I was surprised that so many people have started following our blog!  But I love the company along the way!!!!!

On to the "rules" of this award:

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award

2. Answer 10 questions

3. Pass it along to 7 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy

4. Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award

The 10 Questions...

1.      Why did you create this blog?

I needed to organize my assessment portfolios for the kids this year.  With everyone now at home, WOW a lot of paperwork and activity.  I admit….I am not good at organizing paperwork!! I never know what to save.  I also have a bit of a memory issue, so I knew I was forgetting wonderful educational experiences that we had done.  So a blog was an easy way to chronicle these adventures.

2. What kinds of blogs do you follow?

I have started following more scrapbooking blogs.  It has always been a distant interest of mine to start.  I enjoy seeing scrapbooks.  Problem is NO TIME!!  But now with the whole digital age, that may change.  Look out Terabyte hard drive…and 10 years worth of pictures!!!  Here I come. I also following homeschool and preschool blogs.  They are the main ones.  I have kids ages 3 to 10.  We are always looking for new things to try!

3. Favorite make-up brand?
I haven’t worn make-up in over a year.  I got a new hairstyle, bought makeup.   Thought how awesome to maybe not feel so blah!  That lasted a couple weeks.  Barely had time to quickly style my “low” maintenance hair in the morning.  Stayed on the shelf and then found the girls playing in it.  So much for make-up.  If I buy though, it’s usually Revlon or Cover Girl.
4. Favorite clothing brand?
Right now it’s whatever fits!  My fibro has caused me to lose lots of weight since September.  I actually have gone down about 4 sizes of pants.  Pre-Kids, I loved anything from Kohls, Penney’s, and Old Navy.  Now I still love Old Navy comfort.  But it’s also whatever is a good price at Goodwill and Savers.
5. Indispensable makeup product?

Pre-kids…..Concealer.  I had blotchy skin.  Had to hide itJ
6. Favorite color?

I really like earthy colors.  But right now my go-to color is Yellow.

7. Favorite perfume?

Don’t wear perfume anymore.  But I love “Fruity” smells.  So if I go around smelling like a strawberry it makes me feel betterJ

8. Favorite film?

Ok….here comes hokey!  I still love Gone With the Wind!!!  I watch all kinds of movies.  We have Netflix online subscription and can watch them through our stereo receiver on the TV in the living room.  I don’t know how many times I have just wanted to repeat Rhett’s infamous line!!!  I also like It’s a Wonderful Life.

9. What country would you like to visit and why?

That is a tough question.  We are doing world geography this year and we have seen some pretty great places to visit courtesy of the internet.  I would love to visit Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef.  I would also really enjoy a visit to Africa…I know that’s a continent and not a country.  But the chance to visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe would be awesome!!!  To be able to look over the waterfall at Devils Pool would be a speechless moment.

10. Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?

The way my life goes…I would forget to do bothJ!!!!

Now onto the people I will be sending this to.
