Homeschool Mothers Journal - Week 42
In my life this week....
It has been kind of crazy. My health has been up and down due to different health issues resurfacing. Just annoying because it makes me not feel well. I then feel like I cannot keep up with the kids or what needs done. The frustration then leads to me being short tempered and less patient. It's a vicious cycle, I am trying to break my attitude pattern since I can try and control this. Whereas my health I cannot control as well.
In our homeschool this week....
I ended up letting the kids have two days off this week. We fell a bit behind because of it, but not too bad. They may have a couple extra days off next week too. I will figure it all out.
Lydia learned about volcanoes and even built one using modeling clay. Yes she erupted it for a long time! Joey and Brayden started working on the planet section of their Astronomy study. Joey is actually building a small solar system that I bought on Amazon.
What I am reading....
What I am cooking....
I made some chocolate chip cookies for the kids. Also some spaghetti casserole for Joey this weekend. One day I cooked up some diced chicken breasts and turkey bacon and served it on lettuce for Joe and I. Joey ate it on bread and Caty just ate it by the bowlful. It was yummy and super simple!
Places we went....
We went on a really cool maple syrup field trip. Turns out Ohio is #5 in America for Maple Syrup production. They showed us how they made maple syrup from tapping trees to running an evaporator. It was super cold that day, but such great information!!! We also had Smash club and Scouts.
Something I was eyeing....
I broke down and purchased a fun science book for Caty, but it may turn into Caty and the boys. Lydia likes to do her own thing, but I my combine as many as possible for this.
A photo to share....
Sooooo cold!!! But the smell from the cooking syrup was so WONDERFUL!!!
